Program Director
The Day Camp Program Director’s role is to assist the Program Aide Advisors with development and implementation of a volunteer-run day camp program that is consistent with the Girl Scout Mission, Program Goals, Promise, Law, and all Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Western Washington policies and health and safety standards.

Service Commitment: The Day Camp Director will appoint the Program Director for a one year (renewable) term in which they can expect to provide a minimum of 30 hours of service, depending on the needs of the day camp. The service hours will be spread out over a planning and preparation period leading up to the opening of day camp and during the day camp session. This position does not require you to be at camp during the week.
Supervision and Support: The Day Camp Program Director is supported by and accountable to the Day Camp Program Aide Advisors.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as part of the Leadership Team of the day camp
- Attend day camp Leadership Team meetings as possible
- Attend and help drive steering committee meetings with the Program Aides
- Attend Program Aide retreat and work with PAs on programming ideas
- Work with PA steering committee and PA Advisors to develop program activities for the day camp
- Have skills, interest or experience in program planning and activity design.
- Help recruit, prepare and support Program Specialists/guest speakers.
- Coordinate activities with other program areas, units, and all-camp programs.
- Develop a plan for supplies and equipment needed, and budget plan for the station.
- Adhere to agreed-upon program budget and schedule.
- Submit any invoices or requests for reimbursement for expenses to the Business Manager according to the schedule and process established by the Leadership Team.
- Participate in evaluation at the end of camp.
- Represent day camp and Girl Scouts in a positive light to campers, volunteers, guests, and the community.
Qualifications:
- Experience with planning successful child programs, planning and implementing activity events is a plus.
- Good organization and communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with a team of teens and volunteers.
- Ability and willingness to promote the Girl Scout experience
